It reminds me of when I used to play MUDs/MUSHs as a teen in the 90s (without the "multi user" part) even though I know that fundamentally Warsim is a different breed entirely as it's more of a simulation game. That's where it shines.It's definitely only going to appeal to a niche audience, but if you like deep, text based ASCII games and/or sim games, you're right at home here. I'd also say if you enjoy Dwarf Fortress there's a good chance you'd be into Warsim as well. (For the depth as opposed to just the similar graphical style.) If you think the premise sounds interesting but aren't sure if you want to take the $5 plunge, over on IndieDB you can download the early (pre Steam release) versions of the game to at least get an idea of what it's like. The last update there was in June of 2017 though, so I'm sure a lot has changed, but like I said, that should be enough to tell you whether or not it's for you.I'd recommend this game without hesitation. Buy it, have a good time and enjoy a throwback to an older time in gaming where style and depth won out over frantic, ADD gameplay.. An absolutely brilliant example of what human imagination can produce.. Even in this early access state one of the best kingdom simulators on the market.
